The Projex Fair 2010 held in Khartoum, Sudan was a great success. Commodity Inspection Services (CIS) BV was one of the exhibitors who drew attention of many visitors in the Industrial and Agricultural field.
The venue was held at the International fair Ground in Khartoum from 02-01-2010 till 06-01-2010.
The Central Bank of Algeria has made it a requirement that all products are certified before shipment. Each delivery should be accompanied with a “Certificate de contrôle de qualité”.
Commodity Inspection Services (CIS) BV in the Netherlands are now one of the main certification companies for the Algerian market. The business unit Algeria has hands on experience with this new requirement and is ready to assist any exporter no matter where they are located.
Due to dramatic decline in export & trade volume which is only expected to engrave in the coming few months many companies including inspection companies are put to the test. Several inspection companies had to lay-off substantial numbers of employees and reduce their rates and as a result reduce their services. This is the time it becomes clear which are the sound, professional organizations and which have no chance to survive, especially not a crisis of the magnitude we are facing now.
It is then also with pleasure that Commodity Inspection Services (CIS) sees their activities only marginally under pressure; in some sectors business is even growing! Commodity Inspection Services (CIS) did not have to lay-off any employees which would otherwise have been a drain in expertise and experience. Commodity Inspection Services (CIS) is convinced that the year 2009 will bring a moderate growth of business volume as well as global turnover.
Commodity Inspection Services (CIS) has been officially registered at the Ministry of Electricity in Iraq. Finally there is an alternative for the Iraqi electricity sector: professional, attentive and economical inspection services ensuring swift acceptance of your valuable goods destined for Iraq.
The Iraqi energy sector is undergoing extensive repairs, extensions and modernizations resulting into large numbers of transformers, cables etc. being exported to Iraq at present time which now can be inspected by Commodity Inspection Services (CIS)!
The current ISO 9001 Quality Management System as adopted by Commodity Inspection Services (CIS) underwent annual review which revealed outstanding results. Commodity Inspection Services (CIS) hold the ISO 9001 accreditation for more then 10 years and were one of the first inspection organisations willing and able to follow the ISO 9001 standards.
Any transaction of Commodity Inspection Services (CIS), without any exception, is performed as per ISO 9001 in addition to other requirements which may apply for each case.
Since February 2008, Commodity Inspection Services have been involved in the quantity and quality inspection of Egyptian cement shipped to Sudan. Numerous cement shipments both executed on trucks and on seagoing vessels have been inspected and accepted by SSMO at Khartoum.

On 16th of September 2006 an agreement was signed with the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization, giving Commodity Inspection Services BV the authority to conduct the compulsory inspection as required under Sudanese law. The list of goods is not restricted.
The appointment of Commodity Inspection Services BV was received with much acclaim and enthusiasm by the Sudanese people and importers and by exporters to Sudan. Finally there is an alternative for the formerly inspection monopoly in Sudan!
With pleasure we received a "news flash" from our Kenya office that as of 10-02-2006 CIS Kenya is ISO 9001:2000 approved. Besides this the office was awarded two prestiguous Quality Awards (KQA & SMME).
